Spirit Soaring Music ..Mostly From the Past-Mostly Obscure

ERIC WHITACRE'S VIRTUAL CHOIR-2,000 voices via you tube singing acapella under the direction of composer Eric Whitacre..made me cry to see the you tube images of 2,000 faces..folk who had never met each other or been togethether or rehearsed together in any way..singing this amazing piece. A new Virtual choir peice will debut on  April 7. http://www.ted.com/talks/eric_whitacre_a_virtual_choir_2_000_voices_strong.html

Allen Ginsberg wrote Father Death Blues on the plane home after receiving news of his father's death and often sang it, as here, accompanying himself on the harmonium.  He sang it always with a dignity and sweetness that is deeply moving.
